Some Holiday Hints – Perthshire/Stirlingshire

Fortingall
5000 year old yew tree in the birthplace of Pontius Pilate (it’s all true, apparently)

We ate at the Fortingall Hotel, it was lovely.

Glen Lyon
Lovely quiet glen for a walk

Kinloch Rannoch, Rannoch Station & Rannoch Moor
We stayed at the Dunalastair Hotel.

The trip out to Rannoch Station and a walk on Rannoch Moor are a must.

It’s the most remote place in Britain to go for a walk.

Loch Earn
Glorious, scene of many a happy day wakeboarding, bbq-ing, partying and even wild camping.
There’s a watersports centre at the western end who can introduce you to monoski, waterski and wakeboarding.

While you’re there you should head up to the Falls of Dochart, especially if there has been some rain.

Callander, Aberfoyle & The Dukes Pass
Lovely little picture postcard towns with a brilliant driving road in between.

Wallace Monument
Great views but hang on at the top if it’s windy. Please excuse the horrendous Mel Gibson statue at the base.
